Skincare, new and old

Hey ho beauties, welcome back! It’s time to revisit some skincare products I’ve been loving. Also to say hello to some new additions!

Let’s start with the reason for this skincare post. I’ve recently been gifted an amazing book by a friend. Some of you may have heard of it, I myself have wanted it for a while. I just never got around to actually purchasing it. It’s Zoë Foster Blake’s, Amazinger Face. It is labeled as a “Top-to-toe beauty extravaganza”. Let me tell you it is nothing less. There is so much useful information in this book! From suggested skin care routines for teen to mature skin, colour matching help and many how to pages. This book is such an interesting and funny read. Zoë is a former beauty director for Cosmo magazine and Harper’s Bazzar. She has so many tips and tricks she has learnt along her journey, it’s a fountain of knowledge. Moving on, this book inspired me to really get my skincare routine in tip top shape.

So here we are. I have been using my Tarte Maracuja C-brighter Eye cream for a few months now and I am more than happy with the results. Read my first impressions post here from when I bought it. I know there are a lot of mixed reviews on this product. Personally you either love it or hate it, and I love it. I notice less darkness under my eyes and a whole lot more moisture. I apply this morning and night (if I can remember) and I always wake looking brighter under the eyes. Using a tapping motion to apply the product also stimulates the area. So this has become a huge part of my skincare routine. I don’t find it affects my makeup application either, which is nice.

imageNext up is Argan Oil. I’ve been using the sample I got in a Mecca Beauty Loop box. The Josie Maran 100% Pure Argan Oil. I really find my skin soaks this up of a night after I’ve cleansed. I have kind of oily skin to begin with so I was a bit hesitant using this all over my face and neck. To be honest it just makes my makeup so smooth and blendable. Especially on days I’m not prepared to put on primer and a full face. After reading Zoë Foster’s book I decided that I really need a SPF sunscreen in my routine.

Living in Australia I am out in the sun quite a bit without realising it. So as suggested I have opted for a SPF 50 physical moisturiser sunscreen. I got a physical sunscreen rather than a chemical sunscreen because of makeup reasons. Physical just sits and works better for makeup use. Keeping within my cruelty free niche I decided to buy the Natio Daily Defence Face Moisturiser 50+. Added bonus this product is vegan too! So I’ve only just purchased this, but I put a test patch on my face and found zero sunscreeny odour or white cast. It also felt non greasy on my skin. I will keep you guys updated on how this goes with makeup too.

Another brand I want to buy a lot of is Sukin. They have so many creams and serums that I have heard people rave about. So I bought my first item, the BioNatural Skin Oil. This is for scars, stretch marks and ageing skin. It is loaded with good stuff like rosehip oil, vitamins c and f, avocado oil, carrot seed oil and tamanu oil. This product is also cruelty free and vegan! On application it takes only a few drops to go a long way, so that’s a plus! It’s an Australian made and owned brand, which makes me feel good and fuzzy inside as well.  I really think this oil will be a great addition to my skin.
That’s all for today beauty lovers. I hope you enjoyed it! If you have any questions please comment below!!!
