Hey hey beautiful people!
In today’s blog post I will be showing you guys the Violet Voss Matte About You eyeshadow palette which is vegan. As well as some first impressions and my thoughts on the palette. I have also included an in-depth tutorial on a look I created.
So buckle up beautiful people, and let’s get into it. I ordered this palette from Beauty Bay and it took about 3 weeks to arrive. I paid $36 AUD for this palette in some kind of sale that beauty bay had. Usualy its around $70 AUD.
As I first opened the packaging I was super impressed with the sturdiness and weight of the palette. It also comes with a huge mirror that is super high quality, extra points for that. At first glance, there is a good mix of warm and cool toned shadows. But I did notice that some of the colours looked pretty similar in the pan. After playing and swatching the palette there is a definite difference between some of the shades that I thought were similar.
Overall I enjoyed the texture of these! They are super blendable and easy to work with, they give off just the right amount of pigment too.
So let’s get into the tutorial!
Heres my before face, haha.
First I did my eyebrows with the e.l.f Eyebrow Kit in Medium (vegan).
Next, I primed my eyelids with the Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer in Fair/Neutral. I buffed this in with my flat fluffy A07 brush from Spectrum.
After that, I went into the Violet Voss palette and picked up Sweetheart, and applied it all over the lid. Even up to the browbone with the same brush.
Then I dipped into Sweet Talk and lightly built that up in the crease and a little bit higher. I also swept it out towards the end of my brows for a bit more drama. I used the Spectrum B06 fluffy blending brush (vegan).
Next came Mesmerized which I put deeper into the crease and on my outer V.
I followed with Passion in the exact same areas to try and deepen the V.
Lastly, for the outer V, I used Mi Amor to give it that extra dark kick. I ended up going back in with a little bit of Mesmerized to bring back some burnt orange.
And then I did a quick highlight with Sweetheart on the browbone and inner corners using the Spectrum A16 small flat brush.
I decided to show you guys the look with and without winged liner too! I used the NYX Big Fat Liner (vegan) on one eye and the Essence False Lashes (vegan) mascara on both eyes.
Here are the products and brushes I used for the rest of my face;
Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer (vegan).
Hourglass Vanish Seamless Foundation Stick in the shade Bisque with the Spectrum B01 Buffer brush (vegan).
Bare Minerals Well Rested Powder Concealer and a fluffy brush from Laucra (vegan).
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in the shade Dim Light with a Furless big fluffy brush (vegan).
Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer in the Medium/Dark Matte with the same brush as above (vegan).
Illamasqua Sculpting Palette shade Heroine with a Furless MF3.
Hourglass Vol 3 Palette – Surreal Halo Blush with the Furless blush brush.
Hourglass Vol 3 Palette – Hypnotic Strobe Light Highlight with the Spectrum C01 fan brush.
Gerard Cosmetics Hydra Matte lip colour in Madison Avenue
