My Liquid Lipstick Loves

Welcome back to Meggie Moo blog!

This week is all about my favourite liquid lipsticks. The ones I have featured here are my most worn colours and favourite formulas. I will start by saying I’m not a person who wears liquid lipsticks everyday. They are my special occasion lippys for long lasting wear. So let’s get to it!

Jeffree Star, Velour in the shade Redrum

My first ever liquid lipstick, I used this shade for my wedding day and have been in love ever since. It is a true cool red with amazing staying power. It is comfortable to wear and hardly needs touch ups. The formula is so creamy and soft, and once it’s dried down looks beautiful. I just love the depth of this red, it’s such a timeless colour to pair with any eye look. I don’t get to wear this as much as I would like but it’s comforting to know that I always have an amazing staple red in my collection.

Stila, Stay All Day in the shade Amore

This one is my most worn colour. I went through a phase of loving dark vampy lips. I still love the colour, but have been wearing it less in the Aussie summer. This liquid lipstick is super long wearing and takes on a dark plum colour with hardly noticeable specs of gold shimmer.  It really looks like a matte colour, only up close or when removing can I see the shimmer effect. This colour works great with a neutral eye or smokey eye or simple cat eye, anything really! Once again it’s super flexible and brings a kind of darkness and sensuality to the wearer. This formula is also great, not too drying, and no cracking in sight even after hours of wear.

Gerard Cosmetics, Hydra Matte in the shade Ruby Slipper

Gerard Cosmetics as a brand is a new edition to my liquid lipstick collection. These two mentioned are the Hydra Matte formula. Can I just say they are super long lasting, like I have to try really hard to remove these after the night is done.  This shade also has a small amount of red shimmer/glitter to it, which is again hardly noticeable. This colour is a really dark berry red with red reflections, and it dries down matte. It leaves my lips a little dry after use but that kinda comes with the nature of any liquid lipstick. This colour is not my go to, but it is still beautiful!

Gerard Cosmetics, Hydra Matte in the shade Madison Avenue

This colour has warm peachy pink undertones, but I would still consider it a nude shade.  I think this colour looks really great with a bronzed up look! It is comfortable to wear and has a great formula. It’s super easy to apply, there is no smudging or caking and it wears really well too.

Too Faced, Melted Matte in the shade Queen B

This is my second favourite of all the lipsticks mentioned. It’s the perfect nude with purple and pink cool undertones. I love this on my skin tone, especially when I’m more on the pale side. I always get compliments every single time I wear this, confidence boost much?

It has a great formula, but can sometimes look a little dry, I just use lip balm before application. It is super long lasting, and when it wears it doesn’t flake off or build up on the lips. It’s my holy grail nude liquid lipstick, and I find it works with so many eye looks too!

Well blog world those were my favourites! Let me know in the comments below what your faves are.
