Firstly I am going to start with a short disclaimer. This is the way I contour, everyone’s ideas of how to contour are different and that’s OK. This is my contour demo, there are many like it but this one is mine. Without my contour I am nothing. Without me my contour is nothing. Y’all get the idea… I find doing a cream contour so great for a night out or for when I want my face to last all night, I defs don’t do this every day just so you know!! So let’s push through to the good stuff!!
Step 1: Not to prime is a crime. It sounds like it says, prime yo face please! I use the Illamasqua Hydra Veil
Step 2: Apply your choice of foundation (liquid base, no powders)
Step 3: Start by adding some oil to the palette. ( I use Atom Argan oil) This helps to get the product moving and ready to work into your skin.
Step 4: Using a small kind of fluffy brush, pick up the lightest shade and put it on the areas we want brighter. E.g. under eyes up to top of cheekbones, down the center of the nose, in the middle of the forehead and chin and just on the cupid’s bow. (see pic above)
Step 5: Use a darker (not darkest shade) to start carving out the areas we want shaded. E.g. cheek hollows, either side of the nose, outer forehead and hairline also under the lip and jawline if required.
Step 6: Choose a darker shade to go into the cheek hollows and hairline with. (as seen above)
Step 7: BLEND! Ya herd, use a brush or damp beauty blender to make everything come together.
Step 8: Set your under eyes with a light powder to avoid creasing.
Step 9: Set your whole face with desired translucent powder (if you are done with liquid products, i.e blush)
Step 10: Apply eye makeup, blush, lips and the rest of your face as usual!
And there you have it! Feel free to ask any more specific questions below.
